    Preliminary Evaluation on the Safety of Volatile Oil of the Alpinia japonica Rhizome in Tujia Medicine

    With mice as the experimental subject,the safety of the volatile oil of the Alpinia japonica (Thunb.) Miq Rhizome (AJV) was evaluated through acute toxicity test and subacute toxicity test.The acute toxicity test was divided into the AJV group and control group.The acute toxicity test was conducted with a maximum tolerance dose 5 mL/kg of volatile oil.The subacute toxicity test was divided into low-dose AJV group (1.3 g/kg) and high-dose AJV group (2.6 g/kg) and control group,and the drugs were intragastrically administered once a day for 15 consecutive days.After administration,the physical signs of the mice were observed,body weight and organ coefficient were recorded,the contents of urea nitrogen and creatinine in plasma and the activities of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase in serum were detected,and histopathological examination was performed.The results showed that compared with the control group,the physical signs of most mice were normal after administration,and some mice had vertical hair.There were no significant changes in organ coefficient,urea nitrogen content,creatinine content,alanine aminotransferase activity and aspartate aminotransferase activity of mice (P>0.05).Compared with the weight at the beginning of the experiment,the weight of the mice did not decrease at the end of the experiment.One mouse died in the acute toxicity test.In the subacute toxicity test,the alanine aminotransferase level of 1 mouse significantly increased (135.30 U/L).Pathological findings showed that 1 mouse had liver tissue inflammation and 1 mouse had liver fibrosis.The results indicated that the acute toxicity of volatile oil was low,but it may cause some hepatotoxicity with high dosage in clinic.Attention should be paid to its safety.

    Early Catch-up Growth of Preterm Infants with High Nutritional Risk in Xiangxi

    To investigate the early catch-up growth of preterm infants with high nutritional risk in Xiangxi.A total of 23 preterm infants with high nutritional risk born from June 2021 to April 2022  in the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Department of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital were recruited,and all of them accepted individualized nutrition guidance program.The Z-score method was used to evaluate  weight,height  and head circumference.The results show that the Z-scores of weight-for-age (WAZ),height-for-age (HAZ) and head circumference-for-age (HCZ) at birth of the 23 preterm infants were significantly less than -2,which were -4.34±0.99,-5.12±1.61 and -4.60±1.62 respectively.The weight,height and head circumference,WAZ,HAZ and HCZ at 3 months and 6 months were significantly higher than those at birth (P<0.001).At 6 months of age,the proportions of WAZ,HAZ and HCZ greater than or equal to -2 were 78.26%,52.17% and 73.91% respectively.This suggests that through the early scientific nutrition guidance,the preterm infants with high nutritional risk will have a rapid physical growth within 6 months after birth.Most preterm infants catch up in weight,head circumference firstly,and then height.

    Application of Remimazolam Combined with Esketamine  in Pediatric Surgery

    In order to explore the application effect of remimazolam combined with esketamine in tonsil or (and) adenoid surgery in children,children who planned to undergo tonsil or (and) adenoid resection were selected as study objects,and were randomly divided into observation group (given remimazolam combined with esketamine) and control group (given propofol combined with sufentanil).The mean arterial pressure,heart rate,FLACC score,Aono score,postoperative coughing,postoperative vomiting,extubation time and propofol addition before extubation were compared between the two groups.The results showed that the mean arterial pressure and heart rate during intubation and 5 min after intubation in observation group were higher than those in control group.The extubation time and the number of propofol addition before extubation in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group.The FLACC score,Aono score,postoperative agitation rate and postoperative choking rate of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group,but the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting was not significantly different between the two groups.The application of remimazolam combined with esketamine in tonsillectomy or (and) adenoidectomy in children is effective,has stable hemodynamic characteristics,and helps to reduce the risk of perioperative hypotension,the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions,and further improves the recovery quality  of children.

    Effect of Multi-Mode Analgesia Combined with Psychological Intervention on Postoperative Delirium in Aged Patients After Femoral Surgery

    To explore the effect of multi-mode analgesia combined with personalized psychological intervention on postoperative delirium in aged patients after femoral surgery,80 aged patients with femoral fracture admitted to the Department of Orthopedics of Jishou People's Hospital of Hunan Province from January 2021 to August 2023 were randomly divided into observation group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases).The observation group was given multi-mode analgesia combined with personalized psychological intervention,and the control group was given routine postoperative analgesia.The hemodynamic  index at different time after operation,blood gas index on the first day after operation,sleep quality,relief of pain and anxiety,and delirium occurrence in the two groups of patients were observed and analyzed.The results showed that compared with the control group,the patients in the observation group had lower heart rate,lower mean arterial pressure,lower resting and activity pain scores before anesthesia,at the beginning and the end of surgery;on the 1st,3rd and 7th day after surgery,the score of insomnia and the probability of postoperative delirium were lower;the blood gas indexes PaO2,SaO2 and OI were higher on the 1st day after surgery;and the differences in the above indexes between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).It can be concluded that the method of multi-mode analgesia combined with individual psychological intervention can play an active role in maintaining the stability of respiration and circulation,improving the postoperative sleep quality,relieving the postoperative pain and anxiety,and promoting the postoperative rapid rehabilitation of the patients,and it can reduce the incidence of postoperative delirium and improve the cognitive function of aged patients,which is an important part of rapid rehabilitation surgery.

    Effect of Diammonium Glycyrrhizinate on Apoptosis in Rats with Ulcerative Colitis

    To explore the effect of diammonium glycyrrhizinate on apoptosis of peripheral blood inflammatory cells in rats with ulcerative colitis.UC model was induced by TNBS and ethanol,both with colonic mucosa tissue,which were assigned into four groups,namely control group,model group,western medicine group (administrated by sulfasalazine enteric-coated tablets),and licorice group (administrated by diammonium glycyrrhizinate).Pathomorphological changes of colon tissue were dynamically observed in the 0,2nd,and 4th week after model establishment,and the apoptosis rates of LPL and PMN in the blood were dynamically observed by flow cytometry in the 2nd and 4th week respectively.Compared with the control group,pathological changes in colon tissue were showed in model group by HE staining,and the colon wet weight and the colon weight index increased.Compared with the model group,the pathological changes of colon tissue in DG group and western medicine group were recovered in a certain degree in the 2nd and 4th week.The colon wet weight and colon weight index decreased significantly in DG group in the 4th week.Apoptosis of LPL and PMN in blood of UC model was delayed in the 2nd week after model established,while DG and western medicine promoted poptosis of LPL and PMN.In the 4th week,apoptosis rate of LPL in UC model still decreased,but apoptosis rate of LPL in DG and western medicine group was higher than that of model group.It can be concluded that DG and sulfasalazine enteric coated tablets can still improve the apoptosis rate of LPL.Occurrence and development of ulcerative colitis is related with apoptosis reduction of LPL and PMN to some degree.DG can relieve UC  through regulating apoptosis rate of LPL and PMN in blood.

    Effect of Plant Rodenticides on the Reproduction Performance of Female Microtus fortis

    To measure the effects of plant rodenticide on reproductive performance of Microtus fortis,the effects of plant rodenticide on serum estrogen,reproductive organ index,litter size and reproductive delay of Microtus fortis were studied by one-time gavage in laboratory.The results showed that different doses of plant rodenticide significantly increased the uterine index and changed the uterine morphology of M. fortis,but did not affect the level of serum estradiol and uterine length.The serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) content and ovarian index of female voles gavaged 50 mg/kg rodenticide were significantly increased.It is showed that different doses of plant rodenticide could delay the time of first reproduction and litter size of female M. fortis,and the recovery time of reproduction in female M. fortis gavaged 10 mg/kg,25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg groups was 11 d,22 d and 48 d longer than that of the control group,respectively.

    Anti-COVID-19 Pandemic Effect of Plant Flavonoids: Use of Green Tea Flavonoids

    In 2020,we reported that flavan-3-ol gallates (F3Gs),dimeric proanthocyanidins (PAs),and F3Gs and PA-rich extracts of green tea inhibited the activity of the main protease of SARS-CoV-2.Recently,we reported that F3Gs and other flavonoids inhibited the replication of human coronavirus 229E in human cells.In addition,a large number of articles reported the beneficial effects of green tea and flavonoids on the therapy of COVID-19.Since December 2020,we have continued to use demographic and ethno-pharmaceutical approaches to investigate the use of green tea during the recovery of COVID-19 volunteers in USA and Turkey.We collected data from more than 23 people who used green tea during their recovery at home in USA and five consented to report their recovery experience.We collected detailed recovery information from 100 volunteers (from 20-month to 96 years old) in Turkey,who only used green tea for their recovery without any medical assistance.A pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) analysis indicated a negative correlation between the recovery days and the daily green tea cups consumed by those Turkish volunteers.The more cups of tea they drank,the fewer days they needed for their recovery.Furthermore,the data of the annual per capita tea consumption (PCTC) were obtained from 208 and 100 countries in 2020 and 2021,respectively.Turkey had the highest PCTC values,3.0 and 3.4 kg in 2020 and 2021 and their COVID-19 death rates were lower than 1%.People in many countries of Latin America did not drink tea,while the death rates were relatively high.For example,Mexico had the highest death rate in 2020,about 11%.Furthermore,the average death rates of COVID-19 were calculated for 115 and 121 countries in 2020 and 93 countries in 2021.PCC analysis indicated a promising negative association between PCTC and death rates in these countries.The more tea infusions were consumed,the lower the death rates of COVID-19 occurred.These data indicate that the valuable benefit of tea especially green tea to help the recovery from COVID-19 and reduce death (All data were approved for publication by the institutional review board (IRB),the Ethic Commission for Un-Interventional Clinical Studies,and volunteers).

    Influences of Luteolin on Choroidal Malignant Melanoma Cells

    The influences of luteolin on the apoptosis,migration and invasion of human choroidal malignant melanoma cells by regulating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway have been investigated.The cell viability of human choroidal malignant melanoma cells MuM-2C treated with luteolin at 0,5,10,15,20,25 μmol/L concentrations for 24 h was determined by CCK-8 method  to screen the appropriate concentration of drug action.The MuM-2C cells cultured in vitro were randomly grouped into three groups:control group,luteolin group and luteolin + lithium chloride group.After treatment with 15 μmol/L luteolin and 10 μmol/L lithium chloride,flow cytometry and Hoechst 33258 staining were performed to detect the apoptosis of MuM-2C cells;scratch test and Transwell test were performed to detect the migration and invasion of MuM-2C cells in each group;immunofluorescence was applied to detect the expression of apoptotic proteins BAX and BCL-2 in MuM-2C cells in each group;Western blotting was performed to detect the expression of EMT marker proteins (E-cadherin,N-cadherin,Vimentin) and Wnt/β-catenin signaling-related proteins (Wnt1,β-catenin) in MuM-2C cells in each group.The results showed that different doses of luteolin could inhibit the growth of MuM-2C cells,and the effect was enhanced with increasing doses within a certain range.Compared with the control group,the nuclei in the luteolin group were pyknotic,different in size,uneven in coloration,and showed bright blue fluorescence and obvious pathological phenomena of apoptosis,with the apoptosis rate,the ratio of BAX/BCL-2 and the expression of E-cadherin protein obviously increasing (P<0.05) and the cell migration rate and invasion number,and the expression of N-cadherin,Vimentin,Wnt1 and β-catenin proteins in cells obviously decreasing (P<0.05).Compared with the luteolin group,the pathological phenomenon of nuclear apoptosis in the luteolin + lithium chloride group was obviously reduced,with the apoptosis rate,the ratio of BAX/BCL-2 and the expression of E-cadherin protein obviously decreasing (P<0.05) and the cell migration rate and invasion number,and the expression of N-cadherin,Vimentin,Wnt1 and β-catenin proteins in cells obviously increasing (P<0.05).It can be concluded that luteolin can reduce the viability of MuM-2C cells,promote their apoptosis,and inhibit their migration and invasion by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway transduction.

    Effect of Guizhi Fuling Decoction-Containing Serum on Endometrial Cancer Cells

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Guizhi Fuling Decoction-containing serum in regulation of endometrial cancer cell proliferation,epithelium-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) and apoptosis through the regulation of inositol 3-phosphate kinase (PI3K) and protein kinase B (AKT).Seventy-two SD rats were divided into healthy group,high-dose Guizhi Fuling Decoction group,middle-dose Guizhi Fuling Decoction group,low-dose Guizhi Fuling Decoction group and oxaliplatin group.Corresponding doses of drugs were given by gavage,and blood was drawn from the abdominal aorta to prepare drug-containing serum.Human endometrial cancer HEC-B cells were cultured and grouped into control group,high-dose drug-containing serum group,medium-dose drug-containing serum group,low-dose drug-containing serum group,oxaliplatin serum group,high-dose drug-containing serum + pathway activator group.Corresponding serum and reagents were added to the cell culture medium of each group.The proliferation of cells in each group was detected by tetramethylazolyl blue (MTT) method;cell apoptosis in each group was detected by flow cytometry;the expression levels of EMT-related proteins E-cadherin (E-cadherin),cellular vimentin (Vimentin),N-cadherin (N-cadherin) and the phosphorylation levels of PI3K/AKT pathway-related proteins were detected by Western Blot.Compared with the control group,the cell survival rate,Vimentin,N-cadherin protein expression,PI3K and AKT phosphorylation levels in the high-dose drug-containing serum group,the medium-dose drug-containing serum group,and the low-dose drug-containing serum group were obviously decreased (P<0.05);while the apoptosis rate and E-cadherin protein expression were obviously increased (P<0.05),in a dose-dependent manner.Compared with the high-dose drug-containing serum group,the cell survival rate,Vimentin,N-cadherin protein expression,PI3K and AKT phosphorylation levels in the high-dose drug-containing serum + pathway activator group were obviously increased (P<0.05),and the apoptosis rate and E-cadherin protein expression were obviously decreased (P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in each index between the oxaliplatin serum group (P>0.05).Guizhi Fuling Decoction regulates the PI3K/AKT pathway to inhibit the phosphorylation of related proteins,hinder cell growth,aggravate cell apoptosis,relieve EMT,and thus alleviate the condition of uterine fibroids.

    Effect of Nimotuzumab Combined with GP Chemotherapy in the Treatment of Metastatic Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

    The efficacy and adverse reactions of nituzumab combined with GP chemotherapy in the treatment of metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma has been analyzed.Patients diagnosed by the pathology and the imaging of advanced metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma from June 1,2019 to December 31,2020 in Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital,and were randomly divided into experimental group (GP + Nimotuzumab)and control group (GP) .The effective rate,disease control rate,progression-free survival,overall survival and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared and analyzed.A total of 28 patients were included in this study,including 14 in the experimental group and 14 in the control group.In the experimental group there were 1 case of CR,10 cases of PR,2 cases of SD,and 1 case of PD;and in the control group,ORR of the experimental group and control group was 78.5% vs 50.0%(P=0.115),and DCR 92.8% vs 85.7%(P=0.541).The median DOR was 7 months in the experimental group and 5 in the control group (P=0.068).The median PFS of the experimental group and the control group were 11 months and 7 months (P=0.043).The median OS was 19 months in experimental group and 13 months in control group (P=0.043) .The main adverse reactions in both groups were myelosuppression,gastrointestinal reactions and hepatic injury.Degrees of myelosuppression occurred in 11 patients in the experimental group and in 12 in the control group (P=0.662).The rates of grade 1~2 myelosuppression in the two groups were 50.00% vs 25.00% (P=0.115),while 3~4 grade in the two groups were (33.33% vs 64.28%,P=0.058).Grade 1~2 gastrointestinal reactions occurred in both groups 35.71% vs 50.00% (P=0.445).The incidence of grade 1~2 hepatic injury was (21.43% vs 7.14%,P=0.280),and that of grade 3~4 hepatic injury was the same (7.14%) .Compared with GP alone,GP +Nimotuzumab did not improve the short-term efficacy in the treatment of advanced metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma,but prolonged the PFS time,improved the overall survival,and did not increase the adverse reactions.

    This paper is to discuss the clinical effect and therapeutic effectiveness of air enema reduction in the treatment of intussusception in children.86 children with intussusception admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were randomly divided into control group and study group,with 43 cases in each group.The control group was treated by hydraulic enema,and the study group was treated by air enema.The success rate of reduction,reduction time,hospitalization and recovery time of blood in stool,interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor- α  before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.There was no significant difference in the reduction success rate between the study group and the control group (P>0.05).The reduction time,hospitalization time and recovery time of stool blood in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).Before treatment,the interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α (hereinafter,TNF) before treatment in the two groups-α were not significantly different (P>0.05).After treatment,the level of interleukin-6 and TNF-α in the study group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the study group was 4.65%,significantly lower than 20.93% in the control group (P<0.05).

    Media integration has become an important means for medical journals to enhance their academic content and influence.In essence,media integration plays an important role in improving the academic capacity of medical journal editors,expanding the dissemination channels of medical journals,and improving the academic influence of medical journals.However,limited by many factors,the media integration of medical journals is still facing difficulties such as low development orientation,insufficient content innovation and shortage of professional personnel,which seriously affects the sustainable development of medical journals.Therefore,it is proposed that medical journals should focus on the new development trend of " Internet + Media ",orientate the development direction of media integration of medical journals with high standards,build the characteristic brand of media integration development of medical journals,and establish a team of medical journal media integration professionals,so as to finally realize the high integration development of medical journals and new media.
