Abstract: Objective To investigate the protective effect of hydrogen sulfide on the injury of endothelial cell induced by ox-HDL.Methods HUVECs were incubated in vitro. The cells viability is measured by morphological observation and the MTT assay. The levels of LDH and MDA activity in culture medium were measured with corresponding kit. Results HUVECs were damaged obviously in ox-HDL group, hydrogen sulfide improved the condition of HUVEC significantly, increased the cell survival rate, decreased the level of LDH and MDA(P<0.05).Conclusion These results demonstrate that hydrogen sulfide can protect HUVECs from damage by ox-HDL,and it may be through decreasing oxygen free radical production and antioxidation.
