Preparation and Electrochemical Properties of Nano-SnO2

Abstract: Nano-SnO2 was prepared by  using inorganic salt as precursor materials through sol-gel method and characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis(TG-DTA),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).Results indicate that well-crystallized nano-SnO2  about 92 nm can be obtained by annealing at 500 ℃ for 3 h.The electrochemical properties of nano-SnO2 as anode material for lithium ion batteries were studied.It is shown that nano-SnO2 would be an potential anode material for lithium ion batteries with high reversible capacity(more than 687 mAh·g-1) and low voltage plateau(0.2~0.5 V) for Li+ intercalation and deintercalation.
