Abstract: The rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs), as a new energy storage technology, have advantages of good safety, high energy density and low production cost, as well as the current problems restricting the development of zinc-ion batteries. Based on the design of high performance zinc anode, the inhibition mechanism of inorganic nonmetal coating on zinc dendrite growth is analyzed. According to different coating materials, the research progress of zinc anode coated with inorganic nonmetallic materials is reviewed.
