Urease Inhibition Evaluation of Sophora Flower Bud Extracts

Abstract:

Urease inhibition of ethanolic，ethyl acetate and dichloromethane extracts from Sophora flower bud were evaluated through indophenol method.Results revealed good activities of the three extracts with IC₅₀s of 2.63，1.90，0.53 g/L，respectively.Enzyme inhibition kinetics disclosed that these extracts showed reversible inhibition mechanism with mixed type，having K_is of 0.32，0.22，0.084 g/L，respectively.These findings provide a reasonable explanation for the stomach protection and restoration functions of Sophora flower bud.
