Abstract: The kitchen wastes were collected from a student canteen in Jishou University to produce kitchen waste leachate in the laboratory in an anaerobic acidogenic reactor. The characteristics of kitchen waste leachate were analyzed. Results show that the concentration of COD and NH+4—N  for formed kitchen waste leachate after reaction for 8 weeks is more than 140.6 g/L and 16.2 g/L,respectively.With the increase of fermentation time, the pH of the kitchen waste leachate decreased from 5.9 in the end of 1st week to 3.7 in the end of 8th week.At the same time, the VFA concentration increased from 6.7 g/L to 17.9 g/L and the COD concentration increased from 57.9 g/L to 140.6 g/L,while the NH+4—N concentration increased 0.3g/L to 16.2 g/L.Prolonging the reaction time, the pH of the kitchen waste leachate tends to be stable and the concentration of VFA and NH+4—N  increases slowly, while the concentration of COD has a downward trend.
