Abstract:

Tannin-based phenolic resin modified by resorcinol was prepared from Acacia mangium tannin. The adsorption property of resin for caffeine was investigated. The results showed that the adsorption performance of tannin-based phenolic resin was improved by the modification with resorcinol. The adsorption capacity decreased with the increase of the temperature, and the adsorption process was exothermic. The isothermal adsorption of phenolic resin for caffeine was in agreement with the Freundlich isotherm equation.Pseudo-second-order kinetic model can be used to interpret the adsorption kinetics.
