Abstract:

An experiment has been carried out on the effect of different factors on the absorption of malachite green by Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum leaf powder, including absorbent powder particle size,pH value, initialconcentration of malachite green, adsorbent biomass, ionic strength and metal ions. The results showed that the adsorption effect was the best with the blade powder particles of 80 mesh, the initial pH of 6.0,the initial dye concentration of 80 mg/L and the adsorption dose of 50 mg.Taking NaNO3 as an example, when the ionic strength was 1 mol/L,the adsorption rate was the highest, with the sodium ion having the greatest effect. At the same time, the experimental data have been fitted to the adsorption kinetics model. The fitting results showed that the adsorption process of this experiment was consistent with the quasi-second-order kinetics equation. It is concluded that the adsorption of malachite green by L. chinense var. rubrum was of chemical adsorption.
