Abstract

Abstract: In smart home networks，electric appliances are connected by communication media such as Ethernet，WLAN，or ZigBee.This paper introduces RSC-MAC（reliable sensing and control-MAC） for home appliance networks and designs a QoS (quality of service) supported MAC protocol，which provides delay guarantee for arbitrary control messages in home networks and keeps the flexibility of sensing data collection.The simulation result shows that RSC-MAC successfully delivers all control packets within the tolerant delay，and has a good performance in delivering sensing packets.
