Abstract: 45 pregnant rats were randomly divided into normal pregnant groups, model groups and Salvianolic acid B(Sal B)-treated groups.Pregnancy-induced Hypertension(PIH) rats model were induced by endotoxin infusing via caudal vein, and Sal B had been administered to the therapy groups at 22.5 mg·kg-1 per day.The blood pressure and 24 hours urine protein of three groups of rats were recorded every two days. All of the rats were killed;the number of fetal rats and the weight of placenta were measured on the 20th day of gestation. The results showed that blood pressure and 24 hours urine protein in Sal B-treated groups were obviously lower than those in model groups, the number of fetal rats was much more and the weight of placenta was heavier. So the research indicates that Sal B can be used to treat PIH.
