Abstract:

The antimicrobial activity of the strain YIGZ-3 to four tested microorganisms was investigated by the paper disc diffusion method, and its fermentation broth was determined for the presence of alatolactone by TLC and HPLC analysis. The strain was identified by morphological features and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of rRNA gene sequence analysis. The results showed that the strain YIGZ-3 had remarkable antimicrobial activities to escherichia coli, bacillus subtilis, staphylococcus aureus and canidia albicans, and its fermentation broth contained compounds similar to alatolactone.Based on the morphological characteristics and ITS sequence of the strain, YIGZ-3 was identified as Aspergillus tubingensis.
