Abstract: Through field surveys, specimen identification, morphological observations, and landscape classification, this study systematically investigated the characteristics of Lamiaceae plant diversity in Dehang Geological Park,Hunan Province. Results showed that a total of 53 species belonging to 23 genera of Lamiaceae were recorded in Dehang, with Scutellaria and Salvia as dominant genera. The floristic composition was complex, showing predominantly temperate affinities at the generic level and mainly Chinese endemics at the species level, with high proportions of shared species in regions of central China, southwest China, and eastern China.Leaf shape and phyllotaxy exhibited typical Lamiaceae features, while leaf margin types, texture, and trichome types were diverse, with serrate or crenate margins, herbaceous leaves, and both surfaces covered with hairs being predominant—important phenotypic adaptations to subtropical mountain habitats.Inflorescences were primarily racemose, mostly axillary, flowering concentrated from July to August, and fruiting from August to October, indicating strong adaptation of reproductive traits to local hydrothermal conditions and pollination environments.Lamiaceae plants occurred across 11 landscape types, predominantly in the Hengxia slope and floodplain landscapes, with sparse distribution in arid rock faces and cliff-top terraces.Overall,Lamiaceae in Dehang exhibit rich species diversity, unique floristic composition, highly adapted reproductive strategies, and distinct landscape distribution patterns.
