Abstract: With the semiotic principles,this paper proposes a new way of regional sign design to reduce the difficulty in understanding signs and show uniqueness.Based on the survey of regional cultural symbols,the symbols are summarised into common,easily recognisable and simple draft figures.Familiar figures are derived into new signs with regional cultural characteristics and unique elements.Finally,with theoretical exploration,the research enjoys a practical design exploration of the Anren city gate and project implementation.
