Abstract: From literature study and revising and translating experience,the author summarizes the characteristics of abstracts of scientific-technological papers,i.e.completeness,generality,accuracy,and economy.The common problems in some abstracts,such as information redundancy,information default,and inaccurate expression,are thus analyzed.Some suggestions on diction,voice,person,and tense used in abstracts are put forward.
