Abstract: The relationships between holiday economy and tourism economy,sports and tourism are first explained,and then the connotation,characteristics,functions of sports tourism and its developing measures are studied.Tourism economy is an important part of holiday economy.Since sports and tourism have the similar economic and cultural connotation,it is possible to combine the two.Sports tourism plays a significant role in the aspects of increasing the country's income in foreign currency,balancing the domestic demand and need,creating more opportunities for employment,giving impetus to related industries,accumulating construction fund,shalling off poverty and attaining prosperity,and promoting economic cooperation and communication with foreign countries.
