Abstract: Yacon ( smallanthus sonchifolius) is perenial herbage from of the composite family,which was originally cultivated in south america in the andean highlands with altitude of 880~3 500 m from ecuador to the northwest of argentina.In 2009,Smallanthus Sonchifolius was introduced from kunming,Yunnan into hilly regions in Jishou with altitude of about 300 m by our research group and succeeded,in 2010 and 2011,our research group expanded the scope and area of test for two consecutive years,and got good harvest.
