Anther in Vitro Culture of Capsicum Annuum and Its Chromosome Number Variation

Abstract

Abstract: The haploid induction from Capsicum annuum through anther culturing was studied．The results showed that both of the calli and embryos were induced on NTH as well as MS basal medium but the medium of NTH + 6-BA 0.2 mg/L + NAA 0．5 mg/L + KT 1.2mg/L + AgNO₃5.0 mg/L was the optimal medium for inducing calli and embryos．Several kinds of plants in different ploidy levels were obtained through anther culture,14% of which were the haploids,46% the diploids,4% the tetraploids,and 36% the mixoploids．
