Survey of High Dynamic Range Image Tone Reproduction Technology

Abstract

Abstract: It is difficult to visualize the high dynamic range image (HDRI) using common display devices.This paper introduces the tone reproduction algorithms that can transform a HDRI into a reduced dynamic range image which can be displayed on,common display devices.Gobal tone reproduction algorithms and local reproduction algorithms at home or abroad are introduced,classified,and the drawbacks and strengths of all algorithms are given according to the author’s opinions.The problems of current research on this aspect are explained,and constructive suggestions are given.Finally,the developing trend of tone reproduction algorithms is prospected.
