The effects of auxin and its transport inhibitors on germination ratio of Ceratopteris pteridoides spores have been explored. The results showed that IAA,NPA,TIBA,and BFA all could repress the spore germination. However,IAA reduced the inhibition conferred by NPA and TIBA,and the NPA inhibition and the IAA antagonism was uncovered acting at  different germination stages. This study suggested that auxin and its transport inhibitors in Ceratopteris pteridoides  have affected cytoskeleton and even vesicle transportation resulting in key events during spore germination such as gravity sensing and nuclear migration are compromised.

Key words: Ceratopteris pteridoides, auxin, transport inhibitor, spore germination
