Abstract:

We derive matrix expression of the dielectric function of plasmons in low-dimensional quantum systems and establish the transform relations among the present matrix expression, the tensor expression, and Fourier expression. In the finite-subband model,we calculate the dispersion relations of plasmon modes in quantum well structures and semiconductor superlattices for different representations and we numerically confirm the equivalence of the expressions of dielectric function on plasmons in these three representations.
