Determination of Levofloxacin on Carboxylated Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotubes Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

Abstract: Electrochemical behavior of levofloxacin on carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes(c-MWCNTs) modified glassy carbon electrode (c-MWCNTs/GCE) was studied,and the content of levofloxacin was determinated.The results showed that the electrode had good electrocatalysis to levofloxacin.In a mixed phosphate (NaH2PO4-Na2HPO4) buffer solution with pH 5.0,the excellent linear relationship was kept between oxidation peak currents and the concentration of levofloxacin in the range of 1×10-5~4×10-4 mol/L with the correlation coefficient of 0.998,and the detection limit of 2.87×10-6 mol/L.Under the optimal test conditions,the recoveries of levofloxacin tablets were 98.7%~103.0%,and the relative standard deviation values of determination results were 1.31%~3.99%(n=5).Thus the c-MWCNTs/GCE has good electrochemical response to levofloxacin with high sensitivity and can be used for determination of levofloxacin content in drugs.
