Abstract:

The rare earth terbium complex with drug ligands of the enrolfloxacin as the first ligand and the phenanthroline as the second ligand was synthesized by precipitation method. The structure of the complex was characterized by elemental analysis, ultraviolet spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy and the fluorescence properties were explored. The results showed that the terbium ion (III) and the ligand were coordinated together, and a new rare earth complex was formed. The four characteristic peaks of terbium ions appeared in fluorescence spectrum of the complex, and as a result the complex emitted green fluorescence with rather good fluorescence performance. Also there existed rather strong peaks coming from ligands in emission spectrum, indicating that the energy transfer efficiency was not complete in the complex.
