Abstract: A digital image encryption algorithm based on chaotic mapping is presented in this paper.The paper formulates the approach of the map，designs a method of key generation and analyses the security of the proposed image encryption.The simulation results show that the proposed encryption approach is valid.Analysis shows that the map can encrypt compressed images or arbitrary length of data sets.
