Fingerprint Image Preprocessing Method Combining Wavelet Packet Denoising and Image Quality Assessment

摘要:分析了指纹图像的噪声类型及传统指纹图像处理方法的不足,提出一种基于小波包去噪和图像质量评估相结合的指纹图像预处理方法,仿真结果表明:该方法能有效去除指纹中的随机噪声,降低干湿指纹和不完整指纹对指纹识别率的影响,且算法简单,处理速度快,能满足实时性要求.

Abstract: Through analyzing noise types of fingerprint image and the shortcomings of traditional image processing algorithms,this paper presents a kind of fingerprint image preprocessing method combining wavelet packet denoising and image quality assessment.The simulation results show that this method can effectively remove fingerprints of random noise,and reduce the effects of dry fingerprints,wet fingerprints and incomplete fingerprints to the rate of fingerprint recognition.Also it is a simple algorithm having fast processing speed to meet real-time requirements.
