Abstract:

Fe3O4 microparticles of different size were synthesized by a novel solvothermal method, using ethylene glycol as solvent. It is found that the nucleation and growth of  Fe3O4can be effectively controlled through adjusting the concentrations of water, polyethylene glycol 20000,and iron ion, which creates the possibility of controlling the size of Fe3O4 in a wide range effectively.Besides,Fe3O4 microparticle of larger size exhibits more excellent magnetic recycling property. As discussed above, the effective control of Fe3O4 particle is very important to expand its application in magnetite recovery of nanomaterials.
